Brit man who holds the record for the longest fast of 382 DAYS says he lost 1.5 stone a month

Angus Barbieri, a man from Scotland, over six decades ago, captured the world's attention when he embarked on a 382-day fasting journey to lose weight.



A Scottish man, Angus Barbieri, fasted for 382 days, losing 276 pounds (1.5 stone a month), starting in June 1965. He began the fast at the Royal Infirmary of Dundee, consuming only liquids, yeast, and vitamins, aiming to reach 180 pounds. He reached his target weight on July 11, 1966, and broke his fast with bread, butter, and a boiled egg. He had worked at his father's fish and chips shop before the fast.
