British peacekeeping troops in Ukraine must have ‘lawfare’ protection, MPs told

The UK is working with allies to develop plans for troops to be deployed to safeguard any peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

The UK is working with allies on plans to deploy troops to safeguard a potential peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. The Defence Secretary has not committed to derogating from the ECHR but noted existing legislation aimed at protecting service personnel from legal proceedings related to historical overseas operations.
