Brutal world of British Scientology: Former devotee claims he was made to sign a billion

Alex Ross-Barnes, 29, told MailOnline of his time with the organisation founded by sci-fi writer L. Ron Hubbard and which has two bases in London and a UK HQ in West Sussex.

A former Church of Scientology devotee, Alexander Barnes-Ross, is speaking out against the organization, alleging abuse and exploitation within the British branch of the church. He claims he was forced to sign a billion-year contract and faced punishment for minor infractions. The Church of Scientology denies these allegations, accusing Barnes-Ross of harassment. Barnes-Ross, using the moniker "Apostate Alex," has become an online activist against Scientology and claims he is the target of abusive comments from accounts linked to the church.
