The Burke family, including Isaac, Ammi, and Martina, disrupted an Ireland Funds dinner in Washington D.C. to protest the imprisonment of Enoch Burke. They were removed by police. Taoiseach Micheál Martin, the keynote speaker, called the incident "regrettable" but downplayed it, stating "we live in a democracy." The family had previously protested near the White House.
