Canada issues urgent travel advisory for Mexico suggesting 'high degree of caution'

The Government of Canada has issued a travel advisory for Mexico, urging caution for travellers heading south.On June 18, Canada updated its travel advisory for Mexico, warning Canadians of the risk level, which remains at yellow. Travellers are being warned of the dangers of Hurricane Erick, a rapidly intensifying tropical storm. Canadians are also urged to avoid non-essential travel to the southwestern coast from Bahías de Huatulco to Tecpan de Galeana."Hurricane Erick is expected to make landfall as a hurricane between Bahías de Huatulco and Tecpan de Galeana on June 19, 2025," reads the statement.
