Cyprus and Greece have agreed to develop joint travel packages targeting key markets such as China and the USA. Deputy Tourism Minister Kostas Koumis and Greece’s Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni discussed the initiative during a meeting in Athens, agreeing to establish an inter-ministerial committee to foster cooperation on sustainable tourism, AI integration, and other sectoral challenges. Cyprus also expressed support for Greece’s candidate, Harry Theoharis, for the position of Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organisation. The discussions also focused on advancing joint initiatives, including addressing climate change’s impact on tourism, ahead of Cyprus’ upcoming EU Council presidency.
