David Schmittlein, MIT Sloan School of Management's dean from 2007-2024, died at 69. He transformed MIT Sloan, introducing new programs, enhancing its reputation, and guiding it through significant events. Before MIT, he was at Wharton. A Brown and Columbia graduate, his appointment at MIT was seen as a homecoming.
