The season is also marked by a historic $5 million donation from Vickie Zhao and Alex Ionescu, the largest individual gift to a cultural organization in Quebec. The couple, described as visionary philanthropists, will be recognized as artistic visionaries and their surname will be appended to the artistic direction. Their contribution supports the opera's mission without influencing artistic decisions.
