Since the operation began in mid-February, 229 grams of fentanyl, 61 grams of methamphetamine and four grams of cocaine have been seized

A Calgary Police Service (CPS) transit safety blitz, running since mid-February, has resulted in over 230 charges laid, 1,464 arrest warrants fulfilled, 1,060 tickets issued, and the seizure of 229 grams of fentanyl, 61 grams of methamphetamine, and four grams of cocaine. The operation involves police, peace officers, and community partners addressing social disorder and drug use on public transit and downtown, including enforcement, social agency referrals, and business engagements. The Safer Calgary initiative, expedited at the province's request, aims to improve safety and connect vulnerable Calgarians with resources through enhanced collaboration between CPS, bylaw officers, and Transit Public Safety.
