The Düsseldorf-based bakery Terbuyken, with dozens of branches in the city, is now charging an 8-10% surcharge on fresh baked goods like rolls and croissants on Sundays in 25 of its 30 open branches. The surcharge is implemented due to economic pressures and to better compensate employees working on Sundays and holidays. The company states that they still offer fair prices, special deals, and app coupons to mitigate the price increase.
