DWP warns some payments could be delayed for millions in April

The annual DWP uprating will be applied to benefits and the State Pension on April 7

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has warned that some payments may be delayed for millions of people in April. The annual DWP uprating will be applied to benefits and the State Pension on April 7, with a 4.1% increase for State Pension recipients and a 1.7% uplift for those receiving working age or disability benefits. However, most claimants will not see the increased payments until the following month due to payments being made four weeks in arrears. State Pension recipients who receive payments weekly or fortnightly will see the uplift sooner. The new payment rates and details can be found on GOV.UK. Tax Credits are ending on April 5, 2025, with no payment changes.
