February inflation set to ease in ‘calm before storm’ of April bill hikes

The latest inflation data will be published on Wednesday, the same day the Chancellor delivers her spring statement.

UK inflation is expected to have eased in February, with analysts predicting a CPI of 2.9%, down from 3% in January, due to lower rent inflation. However, experts warn of rising inflation in April due to bill hikes and tax increases, potentially reaching 3.5%. Inflation is expected to peak in September and subside to around 2% in the first half of 2026.
