Floodwaters still threaten parts of Australia's east coast as tropical storm cleanup begins

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has cautioned that the fallout from a vicious tropical storm over the weekend was “far from over.”



Parts of Australia's east coast are still threatened by floodwaters following a tropical storm, with cleanup efforts underway. The storm caused one death, injuries, widespread power outages impacting 200,000 properties, and school closures in Queensland and New South Wales. Welfare payments will be available for affected workers.
