Florida opens criminal investigation into Andrew Tate and brother Tristan

Florida's Attorney General, James Uthmeier, has initiated a criminal investigation into Andrew and Tristan Tate following their return to the U.S. The Tate brothers, dual U.S.-British citizens, face human trafficking charges in Romania, where they were arrested in late 2022 and formally indicted last year. Andrew Tate was also charged with rape. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated the brothers are not welcome in the state and directed the attorney general to examine potential jurisdiction over their alleged crimes. The investigation includes executing search warrants and issuing subpoenas. The Tate brothers, influential social media figures, have been banned from several platforms for hate speech and misogynistic comments. They left Romania after a Trump administration official expressed interest in their case at the Munich Security Conference.
