A free online virtual reality platform, developed by Dr. Chris Macdonald, helps people overcome public speaking anxiety by allowing them to practice in various VR settings, from empty classrooms to stadiums. It uses exposure therapy combined with breathing exercises and eye movements. A study on adolescents showed a significant decrease in anxiety and increase in confidence after using the platform. While promising, further research with control groups and larger samples is needed to fully evaluate its efficacy and potential risks.
