Homeless man charged with criminal damage and possession of a knife after attempted 'ram raid' on St Omer Barracks in Aldershot

Hampshire police rushed to the scene at 4.30pm on Saturday following reports that a man had tried to enter the disused St Omer Barracks in Aldershot.



A homeless man, Jason Pellatt, 54, has been charged with criminal damage and possession of a knife after attempting to ram raid the disused St Omer Barracks in Aldershot. He allegedly tried to smash through the gates, verbally abused guards, and damaged his car with a knife. Pellatt has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place, dangerous driving, assault of an emergency worker and affray, and has been remanded into custody and sectioned. The incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
