Derek Morton, a senior residential worker in Ayrshire, Scotland, was struck off the children and young person’s worker register by the SSSC for sending sexually motivated messages to a service user's partner via Facebook in May 2016. He also contacted the service user in an attempt to get him to retract concerns raised about the messages. The SSSC deemed his conduct an abuse of trust, causing emotional harm to the service user.
