Tufts graduate student Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish national and Fulbright Scholar, was arrested by ICE in Somerville and sent to Louisiana. Tufts President Sunil Kumar stated the university had no prior knowledge and did not share information with federal authorities. Ozturk's lawyer maintains she had a valid F-1 visa status.
