Jeffrey Donaldson sex abuse case delayed as wife ‘unfit to stand trial’

At Newry Crown Court on Friday Judge Paul Ramsey granted an adjournment application on medical grounds.



The trial of Jeffrey Donaldson, who pleaded not guilty to 18 alleged sex offences, and his wife Eleanor Donaldson, charged with aiding and abetting, has been delayed. A judge granted an adjournment due to Eleanor Donaldson being deemed "unfit to stand trial" based on medical evidence. The trial, originally scheduled for March 24th, will be reviewed on May 16th.
