Denis Van Weynbergh, a Belgian skipper, completed the Vendée Globe one day after the official race deadline, finishing in 117 days. Despite a large welcoming crowd, he will not be officially ranked or receive prize money due to his late arrival. Van Weynbergh faced technical difficulties during the race, including problems with his wind vane and mainsail. Fabrice Amedeo is the official last-place finisher.
