London's pothole hotspots revealed: which areas are worst hit?

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has warned England’s councils to ‘get on with the job’ of fixing pothole-plagued roads

London is plagued by potholes, especially in Barnet, Islington, Croydon, Camden, Haringey, and Newham. Harrow Council has paid significant compensation for pothole-related incidents. Potholes form due to groundwater expansion and contraction under pavement, exacerbated by poor road construction and salt. The Prime Minister has allocated £4.8 billion and urged councils to address the issue or risk losing funds. London authorities have filled hundreds of thousands of potholes in the last decade, but a quarter of London roads are still in poor condition, costing £1 billion to fix.
