Lord Brocket guilty of failing to give way at London zebra crossing

Lord Brocket was found guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court of failing to give way to a pedestrian on a zebra crossing while riding a moped on London's King's Road. He was fined £346, ordered to pay costs of £650, received a surcharge of £138, and given three points on his license. A cyclist's video showed Brocket driving through the crossing as the pedestrian began to cross. Brocket claimed a car obscured his view, but the magistrate ruled he should have driven in a way that allowed him to stop if someone was on the crossing.
