Scotland Yard informs watchdog after man dies following police incident in South Norwood
A 45-year-old man died in South Norwood, London, after police responded to reports of a child being assaulted. Upon arrival, the man was in a medical emergency, agitated, and resisting. He was restrained, paramedics were called, and he later died in the hospital. The Met Police referred the incident to the police watchdog, as required. Met Commander Andy Brittain expressed sympathy for the family and acknowledged the community's concerns, stating the situation was challenging.
