Manslaughter probe at Lucy Letby hospital: Staff could face prosecution over babies' deaths as police launch gross negligence investigation

Detectives have upgraded their investigation from a corporate manslaughter inquiry against the Countess of Chester Hospital to include those employed during Letby's killing spree.

Police have launched a gross negligence manslaughter investigation into individuals employed at the Countess of Chester Hospital, where Lucy Letby murdered babies. This is in addition to the ongoing corporate manslaughter investigation against the hospital. The investigation focuses on the actions or inactions of individuals and does not affect Letby's convictions. The investigation into deaths and non-fatal collapses at both the Countess of Chester and Liverpool Women's Hospitals between 2012 and 2016 continues.
