Matt Richtman, in only his second marathon, won the Los Angeles Marathon, becoming the first American man to win in 31 years since Paul Pilkington in 1994. Tejinesh Tulu of Ethiopia won the women's title, and Savannah Berry took third. Richtman, a former Montana State cross-country runner, hails from Elburn, Illinois.
