Millions of people could get free £1,200 bonus by paying into certain savings account

Due to changing eligibility rules in April, more people on Universal Credit earning at least £1 can access the Help to Save account, potentially earning a £1,200 bonus from the government. The account encourages monthly savings up to £50, and pays a bonus every two years equal to 50% of the highest balance during that period, instead of interest. The account lasts four years, after which savings are paid out.
