Wild swimming, paddleboarding, and surfing increase the risk of 'surfer's ear,' a condition causing bone growth in the ear canal, potentially leading to hearing loss and infections. Caused by repeated exposure to cold water and wind, it primarily affects surfers, with about 68% of them impacted. Severe cases may require surgery, and prevention involves avoiding such activities.
