Georgina Tuohey spoke from the body of the court while Brendan Cornally (51) was being sentenced at the Central Criminal Court for the rape and sexual assault of her two sons and the sexual assault of her daughter.
A mother, Ms. Tuohey, criticized the sentencing of her former partner, Cornally, who was convicted of raping her three children. She expressed disappointment in the justice system and fears for her children's future, highlighting the lack of rehabilitation support for the victims compared to the perpetrator. The abuse, which occurred at Cornally's home in Tullamore, was reported to the Gardaí in 2018 after a victim disclosed the abuse. Cornally's defense attorney conveyed his apology for the abuse. The judge acknowledged the mother's strength and Cornally was given a sentence of eight years and three months.
