Michael Molloy (25), from Gorey, Co Wexford, was found guilty by unanimous jury verdicts
Michael Molloy, a 25-year-old college student from Co Wexford, was sentenced to five years in prison for the rape and sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman in November 2021. The victim, who waived her anonymity, was walking home from a pub with Molloy when the assault occurred in a laneway. Molloy claimed the encounter was consensual, but the woman testified she repeatedly said no. The court heard evidence of the woman's physical injuries and lasting psychological trauma.
