My £725k home has been destroyed by squatters and vandals but the council REFUSE to let me demolish it...it's a joke

The gothic mansion in the upmarket Cornish holiday hotspot of Looe dates back to 1787 but has been abandoned since 1995 and is now at the centre of a bitter struggle between its owner and the council.

Developer Jason Tucker bought a £725,000 gothic mansion in Looe, Cornwall in 2022, but the abandoned property has been destroyed by squatters and vandals. Tucker wants to demolish the building and build five new homes, but Cornwall Council refuses to allow demolition, despite a county-wide housing crisis and local support for redevelopment. The council acknowledges the building's poor condition but has not approved Tucker's proposals.
