Napster, formerly a file-sharing service and now a music streaming platform, has been acquired by Infinite Reality for $207 million. Infinite Reality plans to transform Napster into a social music platform with virtual 3D spaces for concerts and merchandise sales. Napster was originally launched in 1999 and later relaunched as a streaming service by Rhapsody in 2011.
