The Thistle Awards are back for a third year, giving people the chance to show their support for hotels, restaurants, attractions and events.
Nominations are now open for the South of Scotland Thistle Awards, the region's equivalent of the Oscars for the tourism industry. Organized by the South of Scotland Destination Alliance, with support from South of Scotland Enterprise, VisitScotland, and sponsored by Caledonia Park Designer Outlet, the awards celebrate excellence in the local tourism and hospitality sectors. The nomination period runs until April 28, with a shortlist announced in July and the ceremony taking place on October 2. Last year, the event saw over 100 applications and more than 80 nominations.
