Nouvelles règles, dissensions ministérielles Trois questions sur le nouveau Nutri
The French government has approved the new Nutri-Score, a nutritional labeling system designed to guide consumers towards healthier food choices. Despite initial criticism from the Minister of Agriculture who feared it would penalize traditional products, the updated Nutri-Score, which was created in 2017, will be implemented, giving companies two years to update their packaging. The new calculation aims to better differentiate foods based on salt and sugar content, impacting the classification of certain foods like fatty fish and oils. While some remain vigilant about potential negative effects on French products, proponents emphasize the public health benefits of the Nutri-Score in combating nutrition-related diseases by encouraging moderation in the consumption of less healthy products, without forbidding their use.
