Șoferii care folosesc telefonul la volan, prinși cu o cameră radar unică, instalată în premieră pe o autostradă din Germania
The first radar system in Germany designed to detect drivers using mobile phones while driving has been installed in Rhineland-Palatinate. The technology, called "Monocam," was tested on a highway section between Kenn and Trier-Ehrang three years ago, detecting 327 violations in 49 days. The camera is mounted above the road, films inside vehicles, and uses software to detect phone usage, which is then sent to the police. Drivers caught using phones face a 100 euro fine and points on their driving record, while probationary drivers face extended probation periods and additional training. Privacy concerns have been raised, but the system is permitted under new police regulations. If successful, the project could expand to other regions.
