Offers pour in to help Ukrainian doctor become certified in B.C.

Since Global News first aired Alex Martsiv's story on Sunday night, dozens of people have made offers to cover the costs of his medical exams and certification.

After a news story highlighted a Ukrainian doctor now working as a welder in B.C. due to the expensive and complicated certification process, numerous individuals and a community offered financial assistance to help him become a certified doctor in Canada. The B.C. opposition is urging the province to waive exam fees for foreign-trained doctors.
