‘People are hurting’, says Michael Sheen in documentary where he writes off debt

The actor writes off £1 million of consumer debt using his own money in a new Channel 4 programme.



Michael Sheen used £100,000 of his own money to buy approximately 900 personal debts, totaling £1 million, for people in South Wales, as part of a Channel 4 documentary. He was moved to act by the hardship in his hometown of Port Talbot. He also met with Gordon Brown and Labour MP Lloyd Hatton to discuss solutions and advocate for fair banking practices.
