Poilievre vows to repeal entire carbon price law, including for industries

Poilievre made the announcement after Prime Minister Mark Carney began the process to end the consumer carbon price on things like gasoline.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre pledged to repeal the entire federal carbon price law, including the industrial charge, if elected. This follows Prime Minister Carney's move to end the consumer carbon price. Poilievre proposes incentivizing emissions reduction through tax credits for clean technology and manufacturing, and would allow provinces to manage their own industrial carbon pricing. Critics argue this would benefit the oil industry and hinder Canada's ability to meet emissions targets.
