Pope Francis 'resting' after tenth night in hospital 'went well', Vatican says

On Sunday, the Holy See said blood tests had shown that the 88-year-old had a “mild renal insufficiency, which is currently under control”.

Pope Francis, 88, remains in critical condition but shows slight improvement after being hospitalized for 11 days with breathing difficulties that developed into pneumonia. He has mild renal insufficiency under control and has had no new respiratory crises. The Pope is alert, continuing treatment, and has been in daily contact with Gaza's Catholic parish. He attended Mass at the hospital. The Vatican held an evening rosary for the Pope in St Peter’s Square. Well-wishers are gathering and praying outside the hospital.
