Pope Francis to be released from hospital on Sunday following treatment for pneumonia

Pope Francis, 88, was discharged from Gemelli hospital in Rome after a five-week stay for pneumonia. He made his first public appearance, waving and blessing a crowd from a hospital balcony. He was hospitalized on February 14th for a severe respiratory infection and experienced complications including inhaling vomit. He will require two months of rest and rehabilitation at the Vatican. In his Sunday Angelus message, he called for an end to wars, particularly in Ukraine, Palestine, Israel and Gaza, and for dialogue.
