Pope Francis, 88, was discharged from Rome's Gemelli hospital on Sunday after being treated for pneumonia since February 14th, marking his first public appearance in five weeks. He waved and blessed a crowd from the hospital balcony before leaving. He will require at least two months of rest and rehabilitation at the Vatican to recover from lung damage and voice issues. In his Sunday Angelus, released shortly before his discharge, he expressed sadness about renewed Gaza Strip bombing and called for peace in conflict zones like Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel.
