Reps propose varsity degree as minimum qualification for LG chair

The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed for second reading a bill proposing a first degree as the minimum qualification for the position of local government chairman, among other provisions. The bill also specifies age, indigeneity, asset declaration, oath requirements, election timing, winner determination, tenure length, and removal procedures for local government chairmen and vice-chairmen.
