SNP appoints new chief executive after departure of Murray Foote and Peter Murrell

Carol Beattie has become the permanent party boss after doing the job on an interim basis since October 2024.



Carol Beattie has been appointed Chief Executive of the SNP, following the resignations of Murray Foote and Peter Murrell. Beattie previously oversaw redundancies at SNP headquarters and was Chief Executive of Stirling Council. The appointment aims to prepare the SNP for the 2026 election and beyond.
