Pope Francis, hospitalized for a complicated bilateral pneumonia, personally addressed believers in an audio message from the hospital for the first time since his admission three weeks ago. He thanked them in Spanish with a weak voice, amidst prayers and concern over his health, which included two further severe episodes of respiratory distress.
