Strictly’s Amy Dowden discussed chemotherapy with Charles as she was made an MBE

Amy Dowden, a professional dancer on *Strictly Come Dancing*, was awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace for her fundraising and awareness efforts for inflammatory bowel disease. During her meeting with King Charles, she discussed her chemotherapy treatment and recovery. Dowden, who has Crohn’s disease, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 and has been open about her experiences, including in the documentary *Strictly Amy: Cancer And Me*. She expressed that receiving the MBE was surreal and emphasized her commitment to continuing her advocacy for Crohn’s and colitis, as well as breast cancer awareness. Dowden, who is also an ambassador for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, highlighted her pride in her achievements, including being the first Welsh professional dancer on *Strictly Come Dancing* and her documentaries on Crohn’s disease and breast cancer.
