Supreme Court rules man convicted of murdering Cameron Blair is entitled to anonymity

Judgment overrules landmark decision by Court of Appeal provisionally permitting the naming of the young man

The Supreme Court overturned a Court of Appeal ruling, deciding a man convicted of murdering Cameron Blair is entitled to continued anonymity under the Children's Act 2001, even after turning 18 and throughout appeals. In a separate appeal, the Supreme Court also ruled that sentencing courts lack the power to review the detention of a child convicted of murder, impacting the Blair case and allowing another man convicted of murder to appeal his sentence.
