Syria's interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa is attempting to contain escalating violence between Islamist rulers and loyalists of ousted President Assad, including alleged executions of Alawite civilians. Sharaa's office is forming an independent investigation committee and urging national unity. Kurdish commander Mazloum Abdi blames Turkish-backed factions for the violence and requests accountability.
