During a meeting in the Oval Office, Donald Trump claimed Ireland has "the entire US pharmaceutical industry in its grip" and has been "taking advantage" of the US, stating that past US leaders allowed companies to relocate there. He also mentioned the Apple tax case and Ireland's housing crisis. Taoiseach Micheál Martin described the meeting as "very positive" and made little reference to Trump's negative remarks.
