The Gabba to be demolished after Brisbane Olympics as new stadium plans unveiled

The new stadium will become the Australian state’s home for cricket following the Olympics.



Following the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, the Gabba will be demolished and replaced with a new 63,000-seater stadium in Victoria Park, which will host the opening/closing ceremonies and athletics. The new stadium will become the state's home for cricket. Cricket Australia supports the decision, while the Queensland Tennis Centre will receive upgrades.
