Two Edmonton women who lived in Islamic State enter terrorism peace bonds

In March 2025, two Edmonton women who lived in ISIS-controlled territory entered six-month terrorism peace bonds, requiring continued counselling with the Organization for the Prevention of Violence. The women admitted to living in ISIS territory between 2015 and 2019 but did not admit to being members. They were repatriated to Edmonton in 2023 after being housed in a Syrian camp alongside radicalized ISIS members. Since returning, they have been under strict house arrest but their lawyer states the peace bonds indicate they are not a major security concern.
