Ukraine peacekeeping plans entering ‘operational phase’, says Keir Starmer

PM hosted 30 world leaders on Saturday to discuss plans for a ‘coalition of the willing’ in Ukraine

Following a meeting of 30 world leaders, plans for a Ukraine peacekeeping force are entering an "operational phase." Military chiefs will meet in London to develop plans to support a peace deal and guarantee Ukraine's security. Discussions included new peacekeeping commitments, tightening sanctions on Russia, and potential military capabilities. Russia has resisted ceasefire calls, demanding Ukraine abandon NATO aspirations and cede territory. Alternative peacekeepers could be those from friendly countries. The seizing of Russian assets to fund support for Ukraine was also discussed.
